How to Toggle Between Private and Public in Go Kollab

Go Kollab allows you to control the visibility of your community by switching between public and private modes. Whether you want to keep your group exclusive or open it up for anyone to join, adjusting these settings is easy.


Private Groups:

  • Only members can see who is in the group and what they post.

  • Content is hidden from search engines.

  • Usually, subscription groups are private.

Public Groups:

  • Anyone can see who is in the group and what they post.

  • Content is discoverable by search engines.

  • Usually, free groups are public.

You can switch from private to public or vice versa at any time. Both groups are searchable in GoKollab Discovery.

Follow the steps below to toggle between private and public:

1. Access Your Group Settings

  • Navigate to your community in Go Kollab.

  • On the Right-hand side, click on the SETTINGS button.

2. Locate the Details Tab

  • In the settings menu, find the Details section.

  • You’ll see an option to choose between Public and Private.

3. Switch to Public or Private

  • Simply toggle the option to match your preference.

4. Save Your Changes

  • After selecting your desired privacy setting, make sure to click Save to confirm your choice.

5. Communicate with Your Members

  • If you switch between private and public, it’s helpful to inform your members of the change, especially if the group becomes public. This ensures everyone knows how the group will operate moving forward.
